Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love.
Where there is injury, pardon.
Where there is doubt, faith.
Where there is despair, hope.
Where there is darkness, light.
Where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to
console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive.
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.
Amen.
NB: October 4th, though in between meetings my thoughts
flashed back the memories of the time we spent at San Damiano and the life we lived
with OFM friars. During all those years, this prayer was like stigmata in my
vision and values. Humanity and humanness requires us (regardless of what we
have or who we are) to have humility for humankind. In leadership it should be
translated into action through servitude. It reflects The Golden rule, which is
not only inherent in all major religions whether Western or Eastern but also
entrenched in the African Traditions under UBUNTU. If any of FRASEMA Alumnae
reads this memoir please let us get in touch via johnmnyika@gmail.com.

Powerful; not just the prayer but that you as a leader choose to reflect on and espouse such values in what you do. Hakika, as a politician you are judged by what you say and do. Mungu akuongoze. Nakutakia kila la kheri as you keep representing us, Ubungo residents and Tanzanians. You are doing a great job.
